China's Liaoning Builds a First-Class Edible Fungus Industry Base
Recently, Liaoning Province officially released the "Liaoning Province Edible Fungi Specialty Industry High-quality Development Work Plan (2025-2027)", planning to build a first-class domestic edible fungi industry base in the next three years to promote the high-quality development of the edible fungi industry. According to the plan, Liaoning Province strives to achieve a total output of 1.5 million tons of edible fungi in the province in 2027, and the output value of the entire industry chain exceeds 12 billion yuan.
Current status of Liaoning's edible fungi industry development:
As an important edible fungi production base in the country, Liaoning Province has currently formed an industrial layout covering more than 20 major producing counties. There are more than 100 enterprises engaged in edible fungi production, primary processing and distribution in the province, with 350,000 employees. In 2023, the total output of edible fungi in Liaoning Province reached 1.3319 million tons, accounting for 3.1% of the national market share, and the total output value of the industry reached 8.7 billion yuan.
At present, Liaoning's edible fungi industry is mainly concentrated in the Liaodong mountainous area and Shenyang, Anshan, Chaoyang, Yingkou and other areas. Among them, the annual output of Xiuyan Manchu Autonomous County has exceeded 100,000 tons, becoming the main production and raw material supply base of edible fungi such as shiitake mushrooms, nameko mushrooms, and cordyceps in the country. Liaoning's leading varieties include shiitake mushrooms, nameko mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, black fungus and cordyceps militaris, with strong market demand and broad development prospects.
Future development goals and key tasks:
At the same time, the key development directions for the next three years were clarified:
Optimize the layout of production areas: build 5 high-standard edible fungi production advantage areas, create 10 standardized demonstration professional townships, support large-scale mushroom stick production enterprises, and improve production efficiency.
Improve deep processing capabilities: Promote the upgrading of facilities and equipment, improve the level of primary processing and deep processing of edible fungi products, and meet domestic and foreign market needs.
Strengthen brand and market circulation: Establish edible fungi product trading, processing and cold chain logistics centers in Xiuyan, Fushun, Jianchang, Lingyuan and other places to improve circulation efficiency.
Cultivate industry talents: Cultivate local edible fungi technical talents and industry brokers, encourage migrant workers and college students to return to their hometowns to start businesses, and promote the modernization of the edible fungi industry.
Improve the interest linkage mechanism: explore models such as "village collective + new agricultural business entity" and "leading enterprise + village collective + new agricultural business entity" to increase farmers' income.
